Product Review :: Eurocom M590K Emperor 19-Inch Laptop

emperor laptop

This thing is super huge. I’m not kidding at all.

CNet reviews the new 19-inch laptop from Eurocom, which is seriously huge as compared to even the 17-inch laptop that the reviewer has in the studio to compare it with; and even though the thing sports cool features like full-bodied stereo speakers and a full keyboard with number pad, the thing still looks a little plastic-y for being so expensive and so big. I would have liked to see a more solid, maybe metallic design to give the thing a little more substance, but I suppose for being as big as it is, a thicker case would have made the Emperor heavier.

I seriously wonder, with most people already considering the 17-inch widescreen generation of laptops as “desktop replacements,” whether that need will usher in any kind of demand for laptops this incredibly huge. I suppose time will tell.

Regardless, there’s a reason they call this thing the “Emperor.” Check out the CNet review and watch the video to learn more!

dltv logo

The week’s second fine blended edition of dl.tv is up for download now, and hits on some pretty amusing issues; including facing up to the debate as to whether Apple is still a computer company, why porn seems to be the download-to-dvd leader, and the triumphant release of HD-DVD disks, of which the dl.tv team finally has some! Now if only they can find a player….

All this and viewer questions on the week’s last dl.tv! Enjoy!

Top 5 Things You Should Never Buy

cell antenna

Over at SciFi Tech, there’s a quick rundown of perhaps five of the worst products I’ve ever seen, and they’re absolutely right in the assertion that no one should buy any of these, ever. I mean ever. Starting off with the “cellular signal booster,” those little plastic things they tell you to stick on your cell phone under your battery, and going all the way to refurb computers, extended warranties, overpriced cables, and floor models, the article hits on each one of those five with some serious buying advice as to why you should never, ever purchase any of them, even if they look like they’re a really good bargain.

I have to admit, I’m with them. Some of these things are a scam (the antenna thing, for example) but some of them might seem like good ideas to save money (floor models, which often have been mishandled and are near death anyway and usually sold as-is) or protect your investment (extended warranties from electronics stores, which are a waste of cash-take the money you would have spent on the warranty and stash it away just in case you actually DO need repairs) and they’re right in getting to the bottom of them.

Hey, don’t say we never taught you anything! Read and be enlightened!

Infected with Martin Sargent // Episode 9

infected logo

Another hilarious Infected has hit the streets, and I was starting to worry about when we’d get another one! This one is an especially specially special episode of Infected, very possibly the best episode of Infected ever. Or at least that’s what the blurb says. I’ll just exerpt it, because I can’t put it any finer than this:

It’s got Rickey Kang beating innocents with a kendo stick, an important announcement about Martin’s potential new TV show, a Native American legend about Joey, Gator getting canned up on peach schnapps (not all that remarkable, scratch that one from the list), and breaking news on how getting an English lady to encase your manroot in a gooey white substance might make you, or part of you, immortal. Hmm, maybe Alex Chiu should start making cockrings…

That’s right folks, definitely not for kids! Head on over and download!
