This Week In Tech [TWIT] // Episode 21

Taped before a live studio audience! That’s the tagline for this week’s TWIT, which was recorded over at the Apple Store in downtown San Francisco; the video version, recorded by Kevin Rose and Keith Harrison should be available later in the week. Our esteemed hosts this week are Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, Kevin Rose, Robert Heron, David Prager, and John C. Dvorak, as usual. Special guests this week are Roger McGuinn of the Byrds, Arlo Rose of Konfabulator, Alex Lindsay from the Pixel Corps, Applescript product manager Sal Soghoian. Definitely a good time!

This week’s topics include more patent problems for Apple, Apple’s big announcement on Wednesday the 7th which looks like it’ll be an iTunes phone, Creative’s problems staying afloat, Google’s boycotting CNet, Free Linspire, Apple kills the Mac Mini test drive program in one day, Hurricane Katrina relief, chat about Konfabulator, hopefully a new Systm [ http://www.systm.org/ ] coming soon, creating RSS feeds, and much much more!

Definitely worth a look. Head on over and check it out if you haven’t already-our mirror should be up and ready for your download.

DiggNation // Episode 10

10 episodes under the belt for DiggNation and it’s still looking good. Weekly beer reviews and a wrapup of the tech news, what more could you ask for? This week the video is already up and ready to go, so head over and download whichever version you like! This week’s conversation topics are the CNN weatherman who completely lost his cool on-air (which I’m sure everyone’s seen the video of by now), a study that claims (as if we didn’t know) that sex makes people healthy, the introduction and immediate cancellation of the Try a Mac Mini for 30 Days promo, Mazda ditching cylinder locks in favor of USB, and much much more.

This week’s show looks like it’s a doozy, the stories are pretty interesting. As usual you can be a part of the discussion over at Digg.com, [ http://www.digg.com/ ] and you can head right over and download the show right now!

Command-N // Episode 13

This week’s Command-N again stars Amber and her brother Jeff, and Mikey is off in Toronto and joins by segment later in the show. In this week’s show, we see mentioned everything from Skype for Windows, the new Motorola iTunes cellphone, favicons, and more-and of course the weekly web picks! Looks pretty good, I can’t comment too much since I haven’t downloaded it yet, but I’m planning on downloading it right now-you should too!

Security Now! //Episode 3

The next Security Now! is up and looks like it has been for a while-you’ll have to excuse my lack of regular posts, collecting information on relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina has taken up a great deal of time! Regardless, even though we’re back to a regular schedule with regular information, please don’t forget about the victims of Hurricane Katrina-they still need our help, and we still have to lend a hand. Even as we’re beginning to get back to our normal lives, those of us who are able to, that is, we should still remember those who have no lives to get back to. Keep your hearts open.

Okay-back to point: in this week’s Security Now! Leo and Steve debate the effectiveness and the pros and cons of getting a NAT (network address translation) enabled router, and how a NAT router protects you, and what steps you should take to make sure that you’re actually getting protection from your NAT router, and additional steps your can take to protect yourself. Definitely a ton of good information for this week, head over and check it out:
