This Week In Tech [TWIT] // Episode 49

new twit logo

It’s that time of the week, which means there’s a brand spanking new TWIT to open the week with! This week’s TWIT is a little short sadly enough, but they hit on some pretty big topics! This week’s hosts are Robert Scoble, Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, Kevin Rose, Molly Wood, and John C. Dvorak. (who must be gloating something fierce right now)

This week’s discussion topics include of course, Bill Gates’ odd choices of public appearances, whether or not anyone’s really listening to podcasts, Microsoft’s attempts at IPTV via Channel 9 and Channel 10, (we’ve mentioned them before) Disney’s cell service for kids, and more! Download away, we’ve got our mirror up!

FLOSS Weekly with Chris DiBona // Episode 1

floss logo

A brand new podcast has hit the streets! Remember back when we broke the news that a new podcast with Chris DiBona was in the works? Looks like they went ahead and decided to call it FLOSS Weekly, which will cover all things open source, chat with the open source community and stay in touch with the great technology and tech news that’s going on in the open-source world; and there’s no better host for all of that than regular Screen Savers guest host Chris Dibona, who used to visit and talk open-source on the show pretty often. From the episode notes:

Meet our host, Chris DiBona, a long-time open source advocate, former editor at Slashdot and founder of Damage Studios, he is now the Open Source Programs Manager at Google. On this episode we get to know Chris and hear about his plans for FLOSS Weekly.

Sounds good to me! We’ll be covering this one too, so make sure to check back for more information!

Ctrl-Alt-Chicken // Episode 2

The cooking show for geeks that don’t know a damned thing about cooking is back with a second episode! This week on Ctrl-Alt-Chicken, Alex and Heather decide to tackle a dish that have ruined many a chef that came before them, Baked Alaska. Technically, Baked Alaska is supposed to be “A dessert made of sponge cake covered with ice cream and a meringue that is browned in the oven,” but who knows what’ll come out of the oven on this episode of Ctrl-Alt-Chicken! Download the show and check it out!

DiggNation // Episode 40

diggnation logo

A whole 40 episodes of DiggNation! That’s remarkable, and both Digg [ http://digg.com/ ] and the DiggNation podcast have come a long long way in that time. This week on DiggNation, Alex and Kevin continue their pledge to forgo hard liquor on the show and hit on some of the hot tech topics and dugg stories of the week. First and foremost, of course, is Apple’s release of BootCamp, the software that allows you to install and run Windows XP on Intel Macs, Netflix sues Blockbuster over it’s online rental service, Spirit (the Mars Rover) has a broken wheel, How Bill Gates works, common geek health problems, and more!

Inside the Net with Amber MacArthur // Episode 17

This week on Inside the Net (they really need a logo or banner!) Amber and Leo sit down and talk with Brian Oberkirch and Alexander Muse, founders of Big In Japan, [ http://biggu.com/ ] (no not the band) which brands itself as an “integrated toolkit for prosumer bloggers.” I’m not entirely sure what that means, but maybe we’ll pick up a few tips from this week’s interview! Head on over and download it now!
