Hey! I generally love the show, but was concerned about episode 318 because of discussions about male contraception. So many young men watch your show, I think it is really important to get facts right about sensitive topics that they may be misinformed about. I teach high school and am concerned about info you shared on this show.

1. Pulling out doesn’t work. In fact it is sometimes recommended for couples who are having trouble getting pregnant. This is due to the pre-ejaculate which is secreted prior to the ejaculate. The pre-ejaculate is almost pure sperm material, where the ejaculate contains a lot of fluid that does not have sperm in it, but washes the sperm already released higher. (and sometimes diluting the sperm concentration)
Please do not in any way endorse this as a birth control method that works in any sort of way.

2. Vasectomies work great! No weird sperm leaks. Once you know you have had all the kids you want. There IS a bit of pain, but much less pain than a woman would have for a similar procedure. And lets face it, the woman is usually in charge of birth control for much of a relationship.

3. Please encourage and be excited about new birth control for men, young and old. There are SO many women who “trap” young men by claiming that they have things taken care of… when they don’t. If I had a son dating a girl/woman I would want him to protect himself from unwanted pregnancies as much as a I would for a daughter.

Thanks for all the wonderful stuff you do! I think you are a generally good influence, and remind me of my brothers!
